Dear guests we hope you had a safe trip and are ready to enjoy a stay full of adventure, relaxation and new friends!

Please find here the most important information concerning the facilities of the camp, the campsite, our weekly program, extra activities and much more. If any questions stay unanswered, feel free to reach out to us at any point during your stay.

Facilities of the surf camp

  • In the center of the camp you will find our big kitchen tent. The back half of the tent is the empire of our chef Tim, but the front half is there for you to use. Here you will find a fridge, hobs, a kettle, kitchen utensils and our drinking water station. Please put your name on the items you’re storing in the fridge!

  • Next to the kitchen and the dining tents you will find The Sandpit, our bar/reception. It is open daily from 8.00 to 24.00 o’clock.

  • Opposite of the reception is our mini ramp. It can be skated from 10.00 to 21.00 o’clock, skateboards and protection gear in different sizes are available, too. Use of the ramp is at your own risk!

  • Check out all the fun stuff to do around the surf camp! We’ve got a camp library, several chill areas, a slackline, balance boards as well as surfskates and longboards - just ask our reception.

  • Next to the dining area in the family camp you will find our kids play area please supervise your children when they are playing there and encourage them to tidy up the toys they have used.

The Campsite

  • There are several sanitary blocks surrounding the camp. They all have toilets, showers with warm water and sinks. The closest shower to the surf camp has a wetsuit/board shower, so you can rinse your equipment before storing it. There are washing machines, tumble dryers and baby baths available as well, please check with the reception for the exact locations.

  • The swimming pool is free to use for all our guests. It is open from 15th June - 15th September from 10am-7pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Pool rules include swimming diapers for babies - inflatables of all sorts are not allowed.

  • At the camping reception, you will find free WiFi and an ATM. You can also buy coins for the washing machines there, one coin plus soap is 6,5€. The reception is open from 9.00 to 21.00 o’clock every day.

  • Quiet time on the campsite is from 24.00 to 7.00 o’clock.

Your tent & Equipment

  • Your tent is coming fully prepared with towels, bedsheets, blankets, tea towels, electricity and dishes. Please keep your dishes during the week and bring them with you to the buffet. You will also find soap and sponges in your tent, the sinks for cleaning dishes are at the sanitary block on top of the hill. 

  • Please make sure to keep your bracelets on at all times, they are your entry ticket to the campsite. In case you lose your bracelet, please let our reception provide you with a new one.

  • If you want to use the surf equipment, please attend the beach safety introduction on Sunday morning first and talk to the surf coaches afterwards. They will provide you with a fitting wetsuit which you keep during the rest of the week. The surf coaches will also help you to choose a board and advise you when and where to surf best.

A day/week on
the surf camp

  • Breakfast is every morning between 8.30 and 10.00 o’clock

  • Lunch: Lunch packages are included in your package 5x a week. Upon arrival during the check in please let us know your individual lunch preferences. In Low season, on the days when you have a surf lessons

  • Dinner: We serve dinner on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 19.00 o’clock. On Monday and Wednesday, you can explore the local restaurants or prepare your own meal in our guest kitchen.

  • You can find more information about the restaurants in the Guest Info folder at the reception.

  • During the week, we organie different evening programs for you to look forward to! Come join us for some welcome drinks at The Sandpit, some live music on camp or our fiery cocktail party!

  • Our photographer will take pictures during your stay and the surf lessons of you. A few days after your departure, you will receive a link with all pictures of the week! If you don’t want pictures taken of yourself or your children, please let our photographer know upon arrival.

Kids Animation

During the adult surf lessons, your kids can join our kids animation on the beach, during the yoga lessons the kids animators stay on camp with the small ones. If you want to use the nanny service, please introduce your child to the nannies and vice versa before the lessons start. Make sure to provide your child with a drink, a sun hat and sunscreen before you leave them with us. If your child needs nappies, a pacifier or anything else, please let the nannies know where to find these.

Praia da Tocha

The beach is approx. 500m from the surf camp. If you want to go into the water outside of the lessons, please always stay in front of town where the houses are near the lifeguards stations. On Sunday morning, we will do a beach safety introduction at the camp. Please make sure to join this, no matter if you have booked surf lessons or not.

There are several supermarkets, cafés/bars/restaurants, a pharmacy and a daily market in Praia da Tocha, for more information feel free to ask at our surf camp reception.

In Main Season Wednesday is our day off, there is only breakfast and no lessons, so you can use the day to explore the surrounding area or just rest and recover. If you are looking for inspiration on what to do please click here

Busses & Taxis

Taxis

  • If you would like to order a taxi please ask for more details at our reception.

  • Transfers to the airport

  • We arrange shuttles directly to Porto Airport, the prices are €120,- for a small taxi (4 persons) and €155,- for a big taxi (7 persons). Please note that this has to be paid in cash to the taxi driver.

Busses

  • At the reception you will find the Guest information folder with some detailed bus time schedules

Dogs

Dogs need to be kept on leashes. At the surf camp, dogs need to be supervised at all times. Please don’t feed any of the camp dogs except your own.

Courses & Massages

  • In the middle of the camp you will find our activity board. Here you will find the planning for each day: lesson times surf/skate/yoga, offered activities and evening program. If you want to sign up for extra lessons or activities, you can do so at the reception.

  • Any activities, services or extra lessons you’re signing up for during your stay will be noted on your booking, so you can pay the final sum in the end. If you would like to check your bill, you can do so via your customer portal online or at the reception. At the reception, we do not accept bank cards, so please make sure to prepare the outstanding amount in cash for your check-out. If you are unable to pay in cash, please advise us the day before your departure.

Massage PRICES

"The Balance Relaxing Massage is a soothing and calming full-body massage that puts body and mind in a relaxed state. Ideal for reducing stress and disconnecting from everyday life. On request, I can use an essential oil in addition to a base oil for the massage."

Check out

Check-Out is until 10.30 o’clock. Please leave dishes, towels, bedding etc. in your tent, our cleaning team will take care of it. Your wetsuits can stay over the washing lines next to your tent. Please make sure to pay your final bill at the reception before you leave. If you need a shuttle on the departure day, please let the reception know by the latest five days before. If you would like to know the outstanding amount of your bar-bill before the check out day, please let us know and we will prepare it for you.
